Media comment: support for money worries

The Money and Pensions Service reminds people of the support available to people who are worried about money due to changes in their day to day expenses.

Caroline Siarkiewicz, Chief Executive of the Money and Pensions Service said:

“We know that many people are worrying about money right now. Since the pandemic, we’ve seen an increase in demand for our services, with 1.2 million more visits to our websites and more than 49 million visits in total over the past year. One of the most popular reasons that people have sought our help recently has been for guidance on budgeting and managing money. Other popular topics of enquiry have included debt, homes and mortgages, births, deaths and family, and pensions and retirement.”

“Whether it’s easy-to-follow hints and tips about budgeting, finding support or working out what other benefits you may be entitled to, or if you’re struggling to keep on top of bills and payments, moneyhelper.org.uk can help you find a way forward. Our Money Navigator tool can point you in the right direction if you have money issues due to Covid-19, or you can find free, expert debt advice using our Debt Advice Locator tool.”
